Tilly - 10 Months

Holy cow- These pictures are IMPOSSIBLE to take now.  I was pouring sweat by the time I was done from wrestling her to stay down.  Below is how 99% of the pictures turned out!!

Month: 10 - April 21, 2015

Height: No doctor appointment this month to check!

Weight:  Maybe a little more than last month? I doubt much!  (15lbs 13oz at 9 months)

Diaper Size:  Size 3

Clothes Size:  Still fitting comfortable in the 9 months. Dresses fit in the 6 month size since she is so skinny.  I need to pull out her 12 month tote soon (this girl has WAY too many clothes) and see if any run small that she can maybe fit in.

Teeth:  2 - bottom middle!

Sleep:  Pretty much the same here. 7:30-7:30 most nights, though she has been waking up 6:30/7 some mornings. Luckily she just plays in her crib, so we leave her until her normal time.  Then naps have definitely cut back.  Only 2 now and mostly just an hour for each one.  The morning one at the same time, and then an afternoon one.

Eat:  I could talk here for days.  Tilly is such a happy, easy baby in every aspect except eating! She will do great for a few days- taking her bottles, whole grilled cheese sandwich.. just overall eating awesome.  Then, nothing.  Refusing her bottle most feedings, pushes all solids out of her mouth, and will only eat the purees. Whhhyyyy?! I know I shouldn't stress too much because she is happy and it isn't bothering her. I just see other babies her age eating so much and I wish she would just like food!! I'm also on the hunt to find a sippy cup she will use. We are on our 6th try now and I THINK this one might work. Goodness gracious little girl!  Her favorite foods (on a good day) are avocado, turkey kielbasa, grilled cheese, green beans, vanilla yogurt, Earth's Best mini organic blueberry pancakes, watermelon, and.. I think that's it.

Likes:  Well she still loves to move ALL DAY LONG.  I am completely wore out by the end of the day with this little monkey. Her energy level is through the roof.  She loves playing with all her toys and speed racing through the house.  She also LOVES the remote and cell phones, and I mean loves! Her newest obsession is trying to climb up the TV stand. Fun stuff for mommy.  Oh, and you know how she won't eat? She'll be sure to pick up any speck of anything she can find on the ground and eat that! haha

We recently started giving her longer bath times and that baby loves being in the water! She will sit and play with her little rubber duckies and "talk" to them as long as we leave her in there. Too cute!

She really loves going shopping and smiling at everyone walking by. I swear we have SO many people come up to us in stores to talk to her, it's just so funny. She is very social in that aspect.. who know what she would do if they tried to hold her though! ha

(I just thought she looked too cute in the tiny CVS baskets.. perfect for her size!)

Dislikes:  Eating and drinking...

Firsts:  She is officially standing on her own.. but just standing.  No steps yet, which I am perfectly ok with! ha She walks up and down the couch super fast and with her little walker toy, so I am sure it's coming soon. Yikes.

She will give you kisses now if you ask. (mainly slamming her face into mine and then hysterically laughing)  The funny thing is she won't do it to Lance because she doesn't like the way his beard feels! He'll say, "Give me a kiss!" and she scrunches up her face and leans back! haha

And she is getting better at waving bye bye.. a little frantically, but at least she knows what to do!

Extra Updates:  Well I wrote a post before about how she did nuts in MS again and how we had a trip planned to Lance's dad's.. yea, she did great there! Apparently she really does just hate MS! haha She actually has done really well since I wrote that post. She has let other moms hold her at playgroup and at her gym class.  She also does really well when new people come to our house.  So anyone back home who wants to see my normal baby, you must come to us! :)

Again, just moving right along and amazing us everyday with what all she is learning.  She is so much fun to be around and is just a little firecracker. She has the biggest personality and keeps us smiling and laughing all day long. I can't believe my little baby will be 1 soon, but I am so excited to see what type of little person she continues to grow into.  We love you so much sassy pants!

Here are a few random pics from this month! :)

Book(s) Review Monday

I love to read and go through phases of not reading for months, to finishing book after book.  Right now I am in a super read mode, so I thought I would review what I have been reading lately.  Since I have a baby now, reading only takes place at night once she is asleep, and I can actually focus!

First off I had heard a lot about the author Liane Moriarty and how addicting her books were.  I started off with What Alice Forgot and it definitely sucked me in! Imagine waking up one day and realizing you forgot the last 10 years of your life.. and NOTHING turned out the way you thought it would.  It's a good read and makes you take a second to think about your own life.

Next, I started the Husband's Secret.  I LOVED this book, as it had so many twists and I did not see it coming as to what the "secret" is.  I can't say too much without giving this away, but like her other books, Liane has the characters intertwined and all relating- yet you might not know how until the end!

And last out of this author, I read Big Little Lies.  This also has many twists and keeps you guessing until almost the end.  All of her books (that I have read so far) suck you in and keep you hooked until the very last page.  I can't recommend her enough, and am excited to continue reading her other books she has published so far.

Most recently I decided to read The Girl on the Train.  I had heard a lot about this and thought I would see what all the fuss was about.  At first I wasn't so sure about how the book was written.  It was more 'journal entry' type writing and I didn't know if I would get into it.  It also just kind of jumps into the story, so you are confused a bit at first as to what is going on.  Once I pushed through the beginning, I was sucked in pretty fast and this was another one of those books I didn't want to put down.  You will not expect the outcome at all.. or at least I didn't!

So there's my book reviews as of lately.. any other books yall would recommend reading?!

Weekend Review

I figured I would do a little weekend recap since it's the first one we have had at home and with Lance off in a few weeks with nothing too set to do, and will probably be the last one for AWHILE. (and warning- most pics are blurry cellphone ones.)

First off, Friday was Lance's birthday! My sweet husband turned 36 and we were excited to celebrate this awesome dude.

He got up and went to work, and Tilly and I did our normal Friday morning routine and then headed out to her weekly baby gym class.  We stopped on the way home to get all the ingredients for me to try and copy Lance's aunt's homemade strawberry cake recipe.  Well... on the way home he calls to tell me he is home early and will see us when we get there.  Of course I was excited he worked half a day, but not that he was ruining my plans of making his "surprise" cake! haha  We got home and I told him I needed him to stay out of the kitchen awhile while I "did something" once we got Tilly down for her nap.  His response? "Ok, I'll go work on my Jeep while you make my cake." ha!  Luckily the cake turned out tasting awesome, even though it looked pretty busted. (I'm impatient and apparently icing a cake even if it's semi warm will make it look like a hot mess.)

We spent the rest of the afternoon just hanging out at home, and then got ready for dinner.  Our good friends came over to "babysit" Tilly so we could go out and have a dinner alone.  Since she goes to bed between 7-7:30, we just stayed and did her nighttime routine and got her to sleep- that way all they had to do was just sit and hang out at our house while she slept.  We went to our favorite little restaurant in downtown Concord and had an amazing dinner! Afterwards we walked around a bit since the weather was GORGEOUS, and were home by 9:30.. party animals! ha

Saturday was pretty low key.  We got up and relaxed that morning, and then ran some errands.  We came home and Ms Priss snuggled with her daddy some before her nap.  The weather here in NC was seriously on point all weekend, and we spent lots of time outside!  Once Tilly woke up, we all headed outside and hung out on the deck while Lance grilled some kabobs and corn.  Very tasty!!  I love grilled pineapple and have heard watermelon was good too, so we gave it a try.  It doesn't taste too different, but was good having it warm and a bit crispy.

Sunday was about the same.. relaxing and then made a trip to Walmart.  We needed a few house items, plus Lance wanted to get Tilly a little drum.  I told him how much she loved the one at playgroup on Thursday, so of course he had to get her one. (He is a drummer in a band if you didn't know.)  She is obsessed with that thing and played with it all day, and already this morning!  After that, it was back out to the grill for a whole chicken and some brussel sprouts.  We rounded out the night with some more Daddy snuggles, and then Game of Thrones premiere- hello Jon Snow!

Overall, a much needed relaxing weekend at home with the family!  Happy Monday!

The Tale of 2 Babies

So lately I have come to figure out I have my normal, happy Tilly.. and then crazy out of her comfort zone Tilly. Whew.

I know I always post how happy and fun she is, and I swear it's true.. at home!  She is ALWAYS smiling and playing non-stop all day. Now don't get me wrong, this baby has some sass and will let you know right away if she doesn't want to do something.  But other than that, she is the sweetest, most playful baby.  She will sit and play with her toys by herself and just be laughing and "talking" up a storm.  She now loves to mimic you and copy whatever noises you make to her, and then she laughs like crazy once she copies you.  We are always making little runs to Target or some other store where I have her sitting up in the cart, and she does great with people there.  I would say on average about 5 or so people come up to us each trip and comment how tiny and cute she is. I really think from her size people think I have a 2 month old baby sitting up in the cart! haha  She will just smile and laugh as they talk to her.. BUT, they aren't trying to hold her!

Now let's take a look at travel Tilly.  We go out of town and she turns into a completely different baby.  She was scared of everyone at any location the past few months, but I can honestly say I have seen a huge difference in her warming up pretty quickly when the new people are at OUR house.  You put her in a strange location with strange people? Game on.  She cried most of our trip home to MS and not only is it stressful on her, but it's super stressful on me.  She either wanted to be right by or held by my mom, Lance, or myself the whole time. We went to Lauren's baby shower and anytime someone new came in to talk to her or try to hold her, she cried her poor little head off.  I am sure everyone thinks I have the most unhappy, stressful baby... but I PROMISE she is completely different in North Carolina!! haha  Except she is like this here if we go to someone's house she doesn't know around people she doesn't know.  The one good thing about traveling with her? She does amazing flying and as soon as the plane takes off, she zonks out and sleeps the whole time! ha

We have her gym class and playgroup weekly, but again she is around the same little bit of people then so she does ok.  I know this is normal with some kids (I was the exact same way apparently, so I don't see her changing anytime soon).  After we left MS on Sunday, Lance said, "We aren't traveling with her again until she is 3!"  Too bad we are going out of town this weekend to his Dad's for Easter. Sigh.  MAYBE she'll do ok?!

So, if you meet my baby somewhere that is not our house and it's the first time she's met you- Just a fair warning: She is going to be terrified and scream and cry. Don't take it personal, you're not alone!

You can just enjoy her happiness through pictures for now! :)
