Tilly - 21 Months

I have been the ultimate slacker on my blog lately, but I wanted to squeeze the time in to write this so I won't forget anything.  I have so many post ideas in my head and even take pictures for them.. and then just never get around to sitting down and writing it up.  I will get better.. I hope!  So here we go little girl..

Gosh 21 months.. that means you are only 1/4th of the year away from 2. How did this go so fast??? You are SUCH a big girl now and when I look at you I see a sassy little kid and not a baby anymore.

You are still our petite little thing and depending on the day are right at 20lbs, maybe a few ounces over.  You were in all 18 month winter gear, but with shorts we are back down to the 12 month ones since we can get them to fit your tiny waist and not worry about length.  You are in 18 month tops and even some 2T.  You also had some 2T pants in the Circo brand from Target since they run with smaller waists, which is perfect for you.

I am going to make a little mommy rant here and say.. No, my child is not sick and nothing is 'wrong' with her.. she is just skinny! I have had more  than a few people ask me "what is wrong with her" because she is smaller or how concerned is our doctor.  And I've even had people ask behind my back the same questions to friends of mine.  You know how all adults come in all sizes? Well it works that way with kids too! So please stop asking parents rude questions when it comes to their kid and their sizes. Some toddlers are chubby, some are medium, and some are skinny. Back off! I've had some people say just don't mention her weight so people don't say things, but honestly these blogs about her are something for me to look back on and I am not leaving something out so people won't be ignorant.  End Rant.

Some highlights from the past 3 months since your 18 month update:

You now have all your first round of teeth except the top 2 canines.  Those are making their way in now and are being super painful just like the bottom 2.  Luckily the molars didn't bother you much, so I am hoping once these canines are done and the 2 year molars come in they won't be too bad either. Then the teeth are done.. hallelujah!

Sleep is about the same for night. Daylight savings definitely messed you up and we used it as an opportunity to bump you past 6:30.  We don't put you down until 7 now. Some nights you play and talk maybe 10-15 minutes, and others you are in there carrying on until close to 8.  You are always up between 7-8 the next morning.  Naps have changed a lot and aren't as predictable.  I try to put you down around 12/12:30 now, so we can do lunch first.  You will sleep anywhere from 1 1/2 hours to 2 1/2 hours, but those long ones aren't too often these days. I would say maybe around 2 hours is the most common nap. Normally if you wake up before 2 hours it's because something woke you and you wake up crying and MAD. That means you are probably going to be overly emotional for the next hour or so.. no fun!

You are a talking machine.  You repeat almost everything.. including words daddy says in front of you that he shouldn't! oops! You say lots of phrases and now add Mommy and Daddy to the end when talking to us. You say, "no mommy" a lot now. But.. at least you say it sweet! haha We worked really hard on saying please one day as you were super adamant you did not want to say it.. but luckily after torturing you for 45 minutes one day, you gave in and now say it! You will say please and thank you almost always and I am glad you are added to the polite group of kids. BUT.. the problem with this is now you think as soon as you say please you should get what you want (no matter what it is) right that second.  Sigh.

You still are super happy and the center of attention most of the time. You love all your friends and love your kid classes we go to twice a week.  We now do one gym class and one art class.  You bounce in the room with a big grin on your face each week and never meet a stranger. You are a social little thing and love attention! You have also gotten to where you really love your close friends that we see weekly and get so excited to see them.  Your little baby bestie is Emma and your bf is Oliver. You love them both so much and love to give them hugs and kiss all over their faces! haha

We luckily had a good season with health over the winter and I don't think you were sick at all.. knock on wood.  I wash your hands like a maniac and I think it really does help! Now on to allergies, well see how this goes!

Things you LOVE:

All really the same here from before-

Eating.. girlfriend can eat!

Being outside

Dancing.. music makes you soooo happy!

Climbing! Oh my gosh.. you can climb on ANYTHING now and you terrify me daily.  You have ZERO fear. You used to sit in the bathroom while I did my hair, but now you just do flips off our bed. Oh goodness.

(my view peaking out from the bathroom)

Doggies are still your absolute favorite, but you love all animals and making their noises. You recently starting to get as excited over cats (kitty kitty as you call them).

You love when I fix your hair now and always run and sit in front of the big mirror when I tell you it's time to do your hair. This is about the only thing besides eating you sit still for and when I am done, you stand up in front of the mirror and say "preeeeetty".

You got to play in your first big snow and LOVED it. You loved sledding and everything snow. All day you  kept saying, "Snooooow...coooooold"

You also love your play kitchen, books, cell phones (that you still aren't allowed to have! ha), jumping, running in circles, going to the park.. especially going down the slide, your bubble machine, playing dress up with your tutu and necklaces, and of course.. your elephant that you can not sleep without!

Some of your favorite foods are- any fruit.. You could live off fruit. You LOVE berries and now watermelon season, grilled cheese, fish sticks, turkey hotdogs, stoffers mac n cheese, eggs, pancakes or waffles with peanut butter, string cheese, yogurt, avocado, anything with ketchup,  and of course cookies! You are back on regular whole milk now as the lactose free didn't make a huge difference in your random constipation. You do enjoy milk more now and ask for it before each meal. You are so country with the way you pronounce it!

Things you aren't so found of:
There isn't much you don't like.  You still aren't a big fan of vegetables and it still breaks your heart when daddy tells you no.  You also still don't watch TV, as that would require you to sit still.  I don't let you play with my phone or any tablet, so I'm not sure how well you would do with that.  I just think you're too young to be stuck to an electronic and I know the time will come one day your face will be buried in one forever.

We are about to have your first Easter where you will be aware of what's going on and hopefully will love picking up eggs and putting them in your basket.  Each holiday is so much more fun as you get older and start to really understand what is going on.  You bring so much joy to everything we do and we love you more and more each day.  Even though you are a big ball of sass, I wouldn't have it any other way. You love to smile, laugh, and always seem to be having a good time.  We love you so much Tills!
