Ivor - 11 Months

 

Month: 11 - January 26, 2018

Height: No check this month

Weight: No check, but from weighing at home he seems to be right around 20lbs 

Diaper Size: 4

Clothes Size: 12 month for sure, and some 18 month in brands that run super small.  Baby sizing is so crazy.. because some 12 month are huge.  I'll never understand why all brands don't just follow a standard measurement chart for sizing!

Sleep:  Still a sleeping machine!  Nights now he does around 13 hours.. sometimes up to 14!! Naps are still at 2 a day and each one can be anywhere from 1-2.5 hours.

 

Eat:  Well, well.  Right after he turned 10 months he went on a bottle boycott.  His gums started swelling right after that and my only guess is that it was hurting him. We have to fight him to take any bit of his bottle.  I try 3 bottles a day now and he gets MAYBE 8-10oz total.  I called his doctor and they weren't worried for many reasons... He eats a TON, pees enough, and is so close to a year anyways.  He doesn't really "drink" from his sippy yet, just plays and swallows some.  Hopefully he picks that up sooner rather than later.  He does still eat lots of food and now I make sure to add in lots of "liquid" foods like apple sauce, yogurt, fruit, etc.  His favorites are about the same here- strawberry, blueberry, cheese, crackers, pasta, avocado, turkey meatballs, vanilla wafers, Aldi veggie bites, grilled cheese, cheerios, yogurt, applesauce, etc.

Likes:  Tilly's toys! haha Unplugging anything he sees, pulling up on anything and everything, ripping pages out of Tilly's books, the bath, and being tickled! Oh, and his favorite is peekaboo!

Dislikes:  Same here! Being sleepy and having things taken away he shouldn't have.
   

Extra Updates:  I feel like this little man learns more each and every day.  He now loves to wave bye bye/hi, clap his hands, hold things over his face and pull them down to play peek a boo, gives kisses, and completely understands "no"- though he loves to look back at you and grin while he keeps doing what he isn't supposed to! ha!  I can not believe this is his last update before a year! ah!  He is still standing holding on to things and can walk with his walker and along the couch, etc.  He hasn't shown any interest in standing unassisted for more than a second or two, and shows no signs of walking.  I will say though, this little boy seems to go from 0-100 when he learns things, so I really don't know if he will give me any signs!  Tilly stood from 10 months until right at a year  before she walked, who knows if he'll even stand first.  I actually love the stage when they start walking, so I am ready for it!

Little Ivor is still just the sweetest and happiest baby.  He loves to people watch and see exactly what is going on.  He loves his sister like no other and doesn't seem to care at all how mean she can be to him sometimes.  He also loves to take all her toys and make her the most mad! haha  We are so excited to watch him grow and soon become a toddler (ah!!).  I can't wait to see how their relationship grows and experience the boy side of the older years.  I can already see how he is wayyyy more into things and climbing than she ever was.  I think I may finally have to baby proof my house after all these years.

I don't know how it is possible, but he looks more and more like his daddy every day.  Mini Lance 100%! I guess Tilly does look just like me, so it's only fair! :) 

 

Teeth.. oh teeth.  After a whole month of swollen bottom gums, one FINALLY broke through the tiniest amount.  They look so extremely painful.  But our sweet man has been a trooper.  It hasn't changed his sweet temperament except maybe once or twice I could tell he didn't feel good.  He has handled it so extremely well.  Maybe he'll have them out by a year!

In just 3 short weeks we will be celebrating our man turning ONE with a DONUT party! I am so sad and excited all rolled into one.  We love you so, so much! Here's to 3 more weeks with a BABY!

Ivor - 10 Months

Month: 10 - December 26, 2017

Height: No check this month

Weight: 18.4lbs - 11% 

(we had a quick office visit this month so they went ahead and did his weight. He now weighs well past what Tilly did at her 1 year check up! haha!)

Diaper Size: 3 for daytime (I think we may need to bump up soon.. another fun fact: Tilly never wore past a size 4, ha!) and 4 in his nighttime diapers.  Thanks to everyone on Facebook who suggested switching to Huggies for his night time leaks.  They seemed to have helped TONS!
 

Clothes Size: 9 Months but I need to start getting 12 months.  Some things are getting snug and his PJ arms are getting short!

Sleep:  He sleeps so much! I really was thinking he slept more than Tilly did at this age, so I went back to check.. and yep, his naps are way longer!  He sleeps 6:30pm until anywhere from 7-8am.  Then he takes 2 naps and most of the time one is well past the 2 hour mark and the other is 1-2hours.  I am basically stuck home most days because this boy sleeps so much!  I guess this is a way better "problem" to have over a kid who never sleeps.

Eat:  He loves food! Still takes 4 bottles, though he likes to fight the middle 2.  He now eats breakfast, lunch, and dinner with no "baby food" anymore.  His favorite foods so far are- blueberry, strawberry, raspberry, banana, pancakes, bread, green beans, peas, pasta, cheese, grilled cheese, meatballs, and the baby "cheeto"snacks.  His number one favorite though is the same as Tilly's.. avocado! He can eat a whole one in about 2-3minutes.

Likes:  He still loves all of Tilly's toys and trying to unplug things or chew on cords that are plugged in. He loves to pull up on anything and everything (I have learned how unsteady everything in our house is!) and he loooves to be tickled! Also turbo obsessed with his wild big sister and always wants to be in her room.. where she doesn't want him! :)

Dislikes:  Being sleepy and having things taken away he shouldn't have.
   

Extra Updates:   He is now pulling up on everything and cruises along the sofa.  He can also walk pretty steady and far using the push walker.  He is the silliest baby and loves to laugh and smile.. and that smile still has zero teeth so far!!  He is also still really content and down for whatever we drag him along to!  He has already had to have a second haircut!! This boy's hair grows like crazy.  We celebrated his first Christmas and he has more toys than he knows what to do with, but yet he still only wants to play with Tilly's stuff or random items.. of course!  He still also does great with anyone who wants to hold him, and that is such a relief!  So far he is already showing himself to be a climber and loves to get into stuff all the time! With Tilly we literally never baby proofed anything in our house except socket covers.  I think this boy may give us a run for our money in that category! But he is the still just the sweetest little boy and we really can not believe his first birthday is just 2 short months away!! ah!  This year has flown by and it's crazy to think we've been a family of 4 for that long.  We love you so much baby boy!!!
