Tilly - 3 years

Wow! My "baby" just turned 3 and I can't believe it! The last time I updated on her was at 2.5 years old HERE. She had just gone through quite a lot of changes like potty training, a new room, and big girl bed.  Since then she has had the biggest change of all, becoming a BIG SISTER! She has done so great adapting to Ivor and I could not be more proud of her.  She has not one time shown any jealousy and just loves him to death.  She either wants to play with him and talk to him.. or she completely ignores him! haha  Now that he is more interactive, she does like to show him a lot more attention.  She is such a great helper and loves to get him a clean diaper and then run and throw the dirty ones away.

Our sassy little girl is just so full of personality.  These days she talks like a full on grown up and carries on the funniest conversations.  She picks up on so many phrases and it is hilarious to hear the things she says.  She also talks with her hands and just goes to town when telling you a story.  She is definitely a big time daddy's girl, but also loves her mommy time.  She is still our petite little princess and at her 3 year appointment weighed in at 23.6lbs (4%) and 36inches (25%).  Her clothes sizes are all over the place.  She can wear some of her old 12 month shorts, but then can wear 3T dresses and shirts.  She is in a size 6 shoes, maybe 7 in some.

Schedule wise she actually bumped her bedtime later finally and most nights we have her to bed around 7:30pm.  If she didn't nap that day and is cranky/emotional then we get her in there by 7pm. She wakes up most mornings around 7am, but will just stay in there and play until I go get her.  She naps about 50/50 now, but she always has to stay in her room whether she naps or not.. mama needs a break! I put her in her room between 12:30/1pm.  If she doesn't sleep, I still leave her 2 hours.  When she does nap, it's normally around 2 hours or so.  Very, very so often she'll throw in her good ole 3 hour nap!

She is still all things girly and loves to be all done up. The only times she sits still is to get her hair done and her toenails painted.  She insists to wear dresses most days and loves to twirl and talk about being a beautiful princess! haha  My dad has sent her a ton of princess dresses from the Disney store and she is OBSESSED.  She also wants to wear a gown most nights to bed since it's like a dress.  She loves all things princess, mermaids, pink, and girly. If she is wearing pants or shorts, she insists on wearing one of her tu-tus over it at home.  She is my child 100%, that's for sure!

She loves to sing and dance and it's crazy to hear her singing along to songs on the radio and realize she knows all the words. She is so smart and remembers EVERYTHING!  She will start preschool this fall and I can't wait to see all the new things she picks up and learns.  I am excited for her to start, but also so sad my baby is growing up.  She started drop off classes back in March at her gym she has been going to since she was a baby and while she got upset a few times that I wasn't going in with her, she does so great these days.  I am hoping this is a good preparation for school.  She is so into routine and schedules still, so I know she will get the hang of it quickly.  We also are doing a short dance class in July that is once a week to see how she does.  I was thinking of enrolling her in an activity soon and this will be a great tester.  She already thinks she is a ballerina, so I don't see her not liking it! ha

Some of her favorite foods are definitely all things sweet! She LOVE donuts, muffins, fruit snacks, ice cream, etc.  Girlfriend is a carb and cheese loving machine!  She can still eat a crazy amount of food sometimes and I guess her insane energy just burns it right off.  She also really loves fruit and still won't eat most vegetables or meat.  Typical toddler nutrition! She's definitely into her shows and movies these days and LOVES Frozen. She also loves Trolls, Minions, Mickey Mouse, Doc McStuffins, Peppa Pig, Paw Patrol, Sofia the First, Shimmer and Shine, Eleyna, and Daniel Tiger.  She will watch a certain episode and love it  (we stream everything so she never watches live) and then wants to watch the same episode over and over and OVER.. Sigh.  Her favorite toys are definitely babies and dolls still, all her dress up/make up toys, anything musical and loud (ah!), and she loves books.

She is at such a fun age and I think it's one of my favorites.  It's crazy because while her behavior is at the age it's driving me most insane, I still love this age.  She has such a large personality and is such a hoot to talk to and hang out with.  Everything is so fascinating and exciting to her, and it just makes everything FUN!

I'll end with a ton of pictures since our last update! They uploaded all out of order, I think because the file names changed up when I got my new phone.

We love you Ms Tills!!!! <3

  4. I wanted to respond on here since you popped up as no-reply on post today! Thanks for your transition to big girl room advice - people talk about those door knob thingys so I'm definitely going to have to look into one bc her room is so far away.
