I decided to document along our day yesterday and share one of our days together. Here we go!
7:15am- Lance is leaving for work and I am trying to wake myself up. I hear Tilly playing and laughing in her crib already. I finally crawl out of bed, take a quick shower, make the bed, and get my coffee started.
8:00am- Go get Tilly out of bed and dressed for the day. We make our way to the kitchen and start breakfast around 8:15. Today she starts with 4 mini pancakes with peanut butter and finishes with a banana. She also is drinking Lactose Free Whole Milk with her meals now. As she eats, I sit at the counter and do my makeup. We have a small TV on the counter, so we enjoy The Today Show as we eat/get ready.
My view while I get ready! :)
Once she is done eating I clean her up with baby wipes and this waterless cleaner. This stuff is AMAZING and we have used it since her puking days. It gets the lingering smell of food off so she doesn't smell like her meals all day.
8:30am- Finished in the kitchen and we head to my room for me to do my hair and get dressed. Tilly just sits on the bathroom floor and plays while I get ready. She loves our slippers and wears them around whenever she finds a pair.
9:00am- Ready to go and out the door to make our 9:15 art class at her baby gym! I don't normally take my phone in her classes, so no pics from class. Once we leave, I swing through Dunkin Donuts and grab an iced blueberry coffee.. yum!
10:25am- Back home and we go inside to wash our hands and get a snack. As soon as I say "snack" she knows to run to her table and get ready.. too funny! I picked up the "eat" placemat at Target a few weeks ago and it's so perfect for her. She is yelling EAT EAT! all the time. Today's snack is cheddar penguins and cheese crackers. She has come to expect these and will get mad if it's anything else. I chose to not fight this battle, so cheese crackers it is!
Once snack is over I let her play about 10 or so minutes to get some last minute energy out.
10:50am- Back to her room to change her diaper and down for nap. She's out by 11.
11:00am- Ah, naptime. This time is filled many different ways- Cleaning, laundry, paying bills, reading, eating, blogging, catching up on my DVR, a rare nap.. basically anything I need to do that's a million times easier when she is asleep! This day was not so fun. I called Verizon about switching our plan since we were both out of contract and it turned into an hour long phone call. Let's just say I spend half my life on the phone with either phone companies or cable companies. BUT, I did get an extra gb of data and our bill $8 cheaper a month. I am the queen of fighting these people for a discount! ha
Once I was off the phone, I made my lunch and prepped Tilly's. I had a salad that I have been making frequently. I buy the steamable bag of buffalo cauliflower and use half a bag per salad. I dump the cauliflower over fresh spinach, top with some black bean salsa, fresh grated cheese, jalapenos, and light ranch. So good. Tilly's lunch was turkey kielbasa sausage, cheese, half an avocado, and she finished with Jello.
While I ate, I caught up on Teen Mom (yes, I am still hooked on this show) and did a load of laundry.
1:15pm- Tilly is up a bit early today (which is actually getting more normal since the holidays got her so off). I go to get her and of course by this point she has thrown her pillow and blanket out and has her sock on her hand. This girl LOVES putting her sock on her hand and keeping it there HOURS. haha!
1:30pm- Tilly is all changed and strapped in for lunch. At one point she was eating all nice and grown up. Then.. she dumped her food and was squeezing her milk all over the food. Toddlers.
2:15pm- Lunch is finished, cleaned up, and we are headed out to Target. I needed a few things and since I knew it was too cold to be outside long, I used this afternoon to squeeze in an errand.
3:55pm- Back home and she had about 5 minutes of playtime before I was freezing and drug her back inside! haha
4:15-5:00pm- We played inside and then Facetimed with Lexie and Canion for a few minutes before dinner.
5:00pm- In the kitchen getting her dinner ready and having a dance party while the food cooled off.
5:15pm- Back to the highchair to eat. Garlic tomato pasta with carrots, plus mandarin oranges. As you can see from pic #2, she ate all the pasta and left all the carrots. Sigh. So veggie pouch it is! Topped off with some animal crackers for dessert.
5:40pm- Dinner mess cleaned up and now we are in the bath! She loves these bath paints (from the Target $1 section!) and will spend the whole bath time rubbing them all over herself and the wall. The paint turns into soap, so no mess at all. Win!
6:00pm- Finish up bathtime and brush teeth. We are just putting away the towel and walking back out to play when Daddy gets home!
6:10pm- Daddy's home and takes over! He plays with her and she is wound up running through the house like a maniac. Her last 20 minutes awake she is always so hyper and then once it's bedtime, she's done!
6:31pm- At exactly 6:31, she walked into her room and stood by her rocking chair pushing it waiting on Daddy. This girl is hilarious and when shes ready for bed, she's like "Come on and put me down!" haha
I normally start dinner as he is putting her to sleep, but last night I did some cleaning first. By 7:30 we were getting dinner ready and sitting down to eat. Salmon tacos were on the menu this evening. Super easy and delicious. I buy the frozen salmon and let it thaw out the day of. Right before cooking, sprinkle with seasoning of your choice and cook in skillet with some olive oil. Once the salmon is finished, break into pieces in the pan. Brown corn tortillas, smear on laughing cow cheese, spinach, salmon, and top with salsa. Ta-da!
8:00pm- Dinner is cleaned up and time for some American Idol. By 9 we are in the bed and Lance is watching a new show while I read.
10:00pm- Lights out and resting up for a new day!
And that's that! Some days we stay home more and spend more time coloring, doing activites, or being outside. Other days we are running around and not staying trapped inside. We do about 2-3 mornings at her baby gym and also have a playgroup that meets one morning a week. We try to stay busy and as interactive as we can. Even though some days are loooong (boo for being stuck inside for winter), I love each and every day! Lately my days are mainly spent keeping her from breaking her neck and it's definitely exhausting days. I think every morning she plots what dangerous thing she would love to do next and then practices it alllllll dayyyyy looooong! Whew.
(side note- it's 2:10pm as I finish this up and she's STILL napping. Yay for an over 3 hour nap!)
