Beach Trip 2015

I am slacking on the blog, but will try to update more often. Those of you who looked at my Facebook pics have probably seen most of these, but here is our beach recap!

Last week my family flew up from MS and we headed over to North Myrtle Beach. Thank goodness this was before all the recent shark attacks around here.. so scary!  We left Sunday morning for the 3 1/2 hour drive and arrived around 1pm.  We unpacked our stuff and headed down to check out the beach.  Tilly wasn't so sure about the wind and excitement at this point! After walking around some, we walked to dinner and started our vacation binge eating on lovely fried food. Yum! Calories don't count on vacation right?!

Monday morning we got up, had breakfast, and all got suited up to check out the beach and pool.  We had the cutest baby float for Tilly and tried the "lazy river" pool first.  This girl was NOT having the cold water.  She freaked out and ended up being anti everything water related that day.  As you can see from her lip below, she was not a happy camper.  Once we parked her in her blow up pool with some snacks and toys, she did much better!

After a few hours at the beach, we came back up for Tilly to nap and everyone else to get ready.  After a few balcony pics, we headed out to the boys' request.. seafood buffet! Tilly ate so much on this trip.  She was loving all the buttery, fried foods.

Tuesday was about the same for the morning- pool/beach after breakfast and then baby  nap.  Thankfully since we had Tilly in our lap for the lazy river and only did the baby pool, she had a much better day and loved the water!  Since it was supposed to rain that afternoon, we headed over to Myrtle Beach to the Ripley's Aquarium.. unfortunately everyone else with 100 miles had the same idea and it was PACKED.  You could barely move!! But it was neat to see everything and fill up an afternoon.  After we left here, another buffet for the guys!

Wednesday morning we walked to breakfast since we were running low on our groceries, and this little baby PACKED in some food.  A huge pancake, sausage link, a ton of scrambled eggs, and some potato wedges. She must've been stuffed to the top of her head! haha  After breakfast, she had a long nap and then one last afternoon in the baby pool.  I just love her in all her sassy little bathing suits!

Lastly, after dinner we headed down for some beach pics.  Of course I realized about an hour from home after we left that I left my nice camera at home.  Just iphone pics for this trip.  But with a sleepy baby and lots of wind, we didn't get the best shots.  Oh well, still good enough for the memories!

And Thursday morning we packed up and said goodbye!  We dropped Jason, Claire, and Dad off at the airport and headed home to get into turbo last minute party planning mode for Tilly's birthday party that Saturday.  It turned out so well, despite her waking up with a fever.  Hopefully I will get a post up soon.  Sadly today I took her to the doctor after a rash broke out and found out what I thought was a teething fever, was really a virus.  Poor baby made it almost a full year without a sick visit to the doctor. Hoping it'll run it's course soon and she will be feeling better by her actual birthday this Sunday, Father's Day!

And there ya have it, another fun filled beach vacay! Not sure if we will have anymore this year, but maybe we can drive over for a long weekend.  We definitely do not take advantage of how close we are to so many beaches!

Tilly - 11 Months

 Months 1-6

Months 7-11

And here we are already at Month 11!

And what most of the pictures looked like..

Month: 11 - May 21, 2015

Height: No doctor appointment again this month to check

Weight:  My guess is maybe around 17lbs?

Diaper Size:  Size 3

Clothes Size:  Well just a few nights ago I went to put her PJs on and all of a sudden she was too long for them! So 12 month footed PJ's, but can wear 9 month 2 pieces.  Regular clothes (tops/shorts/rompers) are a mix of 9 & 12 month, and then dresses range from 3 month to 12 month! ha

Teeth:  Still just the 2 bottom middle

Sleep:  Bumped back again and is down most nights by 7, then not sure when she wakes up exactly because she just sits and plays, but I get her between 7:30-8am.  Still morning nap around 9:30/10 that's normally an hour and a half, and then afternoon nap around 2/3pm that can range from 30 minutes up to an hour and a half.

Eat:  Same ole, same ole.  Around 4 bottles a day, and 3 meals.  Pretty much off baby food, unless I am in a hurry. Her top favs are avocado, turkey kielbasa, any kind of pasta, vanilla yogurt, grilled cheese, and ice cream.

Likes:  Moving and grooving! She is constantly "talking" all day long.  She still loves sitting up in the cart people watching.. Oh, and she loves giving kisses-  it's too cute! I'll say, Give mommy kiss! and she turbo grins and smashes into me.  I love it!

She recently started loving stuffed animals.  We keep one in her crib now (her picture elephant) and she snuggles it all night! She'll sit and talk and play with it forever in the morning until I go get her.

She loves getting into anything and everything she isn't supposed to! She is a magnet towards things she shouldn't have. Definitely keeps me on my toes all day long.

She also LOVES to have her leg propped up if she's strapped into something- Cart, High Chair, Stroller.. it doesn't matter what.  It's so funny!

Lastly, this baby LOVES to dance! She loves music and is always moving and twisting her body side to side, or bouncing up and down.  She can get down!!

Dislikes: .  I can happily say she has done soooo good with strangers lately. Quite a few people she had never met have held her and she was perfectly fine.  We are going to VA this weekend to see Lance's family, so we will see how she does with traveling on top of being around a lot of people she doesn't know well. Wish us luck!

Firsts:  We had our first Mother's Day together and had a blast.  You can read that post HERE.

Extra Updates:  She is still just standing on her own in open areas, but walks like crazy with her little push walker and along the couch.  She will stand flat footed, but only walks on her tippy toes.  She loves saying Mama and Dada now and gets SO excited when Lance gets home.  As soon as I hear him pull up, I say- Daddy's home!! And she immediately starts bouncing saying Dadadadada.

Everyday I look at her and see her slowly turning into a toddler.  I can't believe how big she is getting and how fast this year has flown by.  Her birthday party is June 13 (a week early because of Lance's work schedule) which means we will be celebrating in just 3 short weeks! ah! Where has the time gone?!

Here are a few of my favorites from this month, along with a sneak peek of birthday fun! Her theme is Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.. I can't wait to see it all come together!!

Crockpot Veggie Lasagna

No pictures today, but just a quick pop in to share an awesome recipe I tried last week. Crockpot Lasagna, who would've thought! It was pretty simple, delicious, and made a TON for leftovers. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

- 24 oz. jar plus one cup of your favorite tomato pasta sauce (I mixed 2 different kinds)
- 9 long lasagna noodles, uncooked
- 2 1/2 cups chopped veggies (I used mushrooms, onion, bell pepper, and spinach)
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 15 oz. container Ricotta cheese
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese
- 1 egg

Directions:

In a medium bowl, mix 1 and 1/4 cup shredded cheese, egg, and ricotta cheese and set aside.
Sautee chopped veggies on the stove with olive oil and minced garlic for about 3-5 minutes, then add in sauce.
Spread about a fourth of the veggie sauce mixture on the bottom of slow cooker.
Add around 3 noodles, or however many you can fit in one layer.
Spread on 1/2 of the ricotta cheese mixture.
Layer more sauce, then noodles, ricotta mix, sauce, noodles, sauce, and then sprinkle 1/4 cup of cheese on the very top.
You should have a total of 4 layers of veggie sauce, 3 layers of noodles, and 2 layers of ricotta cheese mixture total.

Cook on LOW 4 to 5 hours or HIGH 2-3 hours.  I did 2 1/2 on high and it turned out perfect!

Mother's Day 2015

This year marked my first Mother's Day and it was perfect.  We didn't do anything over the top, but it was wonderful none the less.  First off, Lance got up with Tilly's 7am wake up so I could sleep in some. Well.. if you haven't heard me say it before, my child is a wild one every second she is awake. So unfortunately her loud babbling and playing woke me up not long after she got up.  I got up and went in to find some cute little flowers Lance had picked from outside, and some sweet gifts.  Even Tilly managed to get a sweet card and write me a little message! :)  We got her down a bit early for her nap since we had 11am brunch reservations.  We got ready and snapped a few pics before heading out.

**Note- her dress she is wearing is size 3-6 months! haha They make dresses so big that she can wear anywhere from 3 months to 12 months, just depending how it was made. I'm pretty sure this was a dress I was thinking she would wear LAST summer.. Oh yea, but she wore Newborn for 4 months!

Once we got downtown we had a few minutes to spare, so we walked around a bit and enjoyed the morning. Below is the look I got when I said, "Smile at mommy!"  Haha that girl!

We finally got in the restaurant and realized they were doing Brunch this Sunday as a buffet for Mother's Day.  I do wish it was a regular menu day, but the food was amazing.. it was just way too crowded and unorganized for a buffet.  We will definitely have to go back on a regular Sunday, as I have been dying to try their brunch!  Miss Priss snacked on some sausage, muffins, pasta salad, and LOVED the banana pudding!

After brunch, we went by the grocery store and then headed home for a much needed nap! Sadly, my sleepy child decided she needed an extremely short one this day.. of course!  Lastly, we all went on a nice family walk down our new street.  It is SO nice to be able to walk out your front door and go for a walk.  Our old house was on a high speed limit cut through road, so there was no even going near the street.  More to come on the new house soon!  Lots of projects down, and LOTS to come!

Overall it was a wonderful day spent with the people I love most.

I hope all my mommy friends and family had the best day!!!
